The Price City Police Department is investigating a social media post by one of its officers that allegedly included a racial epithet.

Chief Kevin Drolc said Thursday he was looking into the officer's post, which he confirmed included the N-word directed at a celebrity.

The investigation is into the officer's apparent reaction to a performance at the Grammy music awards Sunday night that included the hip hop performer Busta Rhymes, and was first reported by Fox13News.

Rhymes referred to President Donald Trump as "President Agent Orange" and said Trump was perpetuating "evil" in the United States.

According to Fox13, the post also said: "Ol' Busta, once again demonstrated the prime example of a Typical coward [N-word] BTW: I don't use the term much... But, when I do, It's equivalent to one satanic S.O.B . It's kinda just like sayin' 'Obama;, Same diff... LOL"

Drolc said, "If it happened, it's unacceptable and we don't condone that kind of language under any circumstances. The officer that is involved is not racist."

Drolc wouldn't identify the officer under investigation, for what he said would be a violation of a policy. He said the post led to calls from some in the Price area.

"Everybody has their right to their own opinion, but there's policy here that you don't express those kinds of opinions when you work here," the chief said.
